Our Story

Simon has worked in the hospitality industry since he was 18 and has run dozens of pubs, restaurants, and hotels in his time. Originally a butcher working for his Dad, his love of fresh, local and seasonal food extends into Lamb Catering. Awarded ‘Inspirational Leader’ with Mitchells and Butler and ‘Manager of the Year’ at several of M+B’s pub and restaurant sites he oversees the team and is our king of logistics. In the height of summer where Lamb HQ is like a scene from Piccadilly Circus, Simon orchestrates every department to make sure each event runs seamlessly. In Simon’s downtime, he is a lifelong supporter of Newcastle United, enjoys developing his skills on the golf course and countryside bike rides with his girls.

With an extensive career in venue management and party planning, it is fair to say that Sam’s passion and love of the industry is infectious. Sam will turn ideas into reality and make you feel excited about any event that you are planning. Sam can’t help but add a sprinkle of style or spoonful of glamour on to every event that she works on. When Sam isn’t working with clients or running a party Sam loves to horse ride and go on long dog walks with Simon, their girls; Sophia and Poppy and little Lenny and perhaps the odd holiday or two.

JC, as he is known amongst the team, has an incredible sense of calm, nothing seems to faze our top chef. Whether Jonny is about to serve dinner to 600 guests or make and plate over 5,000 canapes, Jonny takes it all in his stride. Jonny joined us after an extensive career in pubs and restaurants in Oxford and one of the things we love most about JC is his loyalty, love of cooking and impeccable presentation. Jonny always puts his heart and soul into everything he does, and this shows in the food he serves. When JC isn’t in the kitchen or doing a spot of DIY for us (one of his many skills) he is a doting Dad to Archie and Phoebe and enjoys walking his dog Dora and going out on his boat on the Thames.

It is fair to say that Claire is our very own master baker and champion cake maker, with a huge passion for all things sweet. Claire has the most infectious laugh and is always sharing jokes and funny stories; she makes the team laugh no end. There is never a dull moment when Claire is working. Claire joined us as following a career working in contract catering and was looking for a role that fitted around her young son, we fell in love the moment we met that we created a role which perfectly suited her and the rest is history. When Claire isn’t cooking in the kitchen she loves to spend time with her black lab, Louis, son James and eating out at lovely restaurants.

Laura has worked for Lamb Catering for many years and has established herself as a truly exceptional member of the Lamb family. With impeccable attention to detail and operational skills, it is Laura’s lovely bond that she makes with clients that make her so special. Laura has a wicked sense of humour and brings calm to any stressful situation. Laura is our sportiest team member and loves nothing more than running, cycling and horse riding. We know that we will lose Laura eventually as she is planning to fly the nest at the end of 2021 moving to London to embark on her Training Contract to become a solicitor.

Peter followed his father’s footsteps and worked in the family butchers shop in the northeast until he retired, spanning a career of over 50-years as a Master Butcher. When the family business celebrated its 100th anniversary he decided to call it time and work as a part-time delivery driver for Boots. With the growth of business at Lamb, his services were in demand and Jan and Peter upped sticks and made the exciting decision to move to Oxfordshire and join the Lamb family. When Peter isn’t out delivering food and equipment to events you will find him assisting with loading vans with all the essentials and occasionally giving a helping hand when it comes to meat preparation in the kitchen (given his exceptional knowledge when it comes to all things meat) Peter is a lifelong Middleborough supporter and enjoys holidaying in the Mediterranean in his time off.

Jan, aka Numbers, is our Queen Bee in the office and keeps the team in line when it comes to all the necessary paperwork. Jan has a broad career in book-keeping and office management working in a variety of businesses over the years including furniture retail, road haulage and the entertainment business where she regularly rubbed shoulders with many stars of the moment. She keeps the office in tip-top shape, boasting an award when it comes to office organisation. When Jan isn’t deep in a spreadsheet, you’ll find her in her garden planting and pruning, enjoying a country walk or on a sun lounger in Spain with a glass of something nice in one hand, book in the other. Jan has a passion for music, in particular, Northern Soul and is often attending local clubs or shows featuring the music that both Jan and Peter love.

Without a doubt, July is our behind the scenes wonder man making sure that everything is clean, tidy and put away ready for the next event. July is always there to assist making sure our back of house areas on events are organised and lends a helping hand in the kitchen when needed. July is the sweetest KP we have ever worked with, originally from the Dilly near Indonesia July’s downtime he enjoys watching his beloved Liverpool play with a cheeky glass of red wine.

Lenny-Love is our office cockapoo who adores being made a fuss of. He wanders around the office with his toys and enjoys giving his opinion on things, it is fair to say Lenny is quite a vocal dog. There is never a dull day when our Lenny is around.
